And the winner is…
Sometimes, I confess, I fall prey to KADD. This little known variation of ADD (Knitter’s Attention Deficit Disorder) usually attacks when I have a long, long list of knitting-that-must-be-done, and an impending deadline.
In this case? The list is HUGE, and the deadline is my self-imposed decision to do a handmade Christmas.
I’ve already decided that, just like on Etsy, sometimes supplies can count as handmade. There *will* be a few people who just get yarn!
Anyway…I knit most of this last weekend. I successfully finished socks for my boss. I started and finished a hat for his wife. And then, right when I was supposed to start a Yoda for another boss….KADD struck. I had this lovely skein of Chunky Baby Alpaca just sitting there, leftover from the hat, and it was SO soft and SO touchable that I couldn’t make myself put it down to work on Yoda.
But what to do with it?
There was nothing for it but to hop on Ravelry, and put in the needle size and yarn weight and yardage. That brought up a bunch of amazing cowls. Some of them involved Mobius knitting. Which reminded me that I wanted to try that. Which led to Wikipedia (because Mobius is cool) and then to YouTube. And then to this video. And then to casting on and doodling in yarn. And then to having knit this whole amazing cowl/scarf thingie.
And then, of course, to the realization that it was 2 hours later, I was no further ahead on my Christmas list, AND I had this amazing cowl/scarf thingie that even if I WORE scarves…still was not my color. ::sigh::
So, lucky readers, I decided to give it away 🙂
