so. I knew what I wanted for my birthday – a trip to 3 not-exactly-local yarn stores. Husband asked me what I wanted…I told him at the same time I gave him *his* early birthday present…a ticket to a NASCAR race. One yarn safari, coming up!
I get to spend a weekend looking at scenery on the coast of Maine while we travel between yarn stores, where I will fondle angora and merino and silk, where I will caress bamboo and stroke wool and revel in the sensory pleasure of being surrounded by soft, shiny, fuzzy fiber.
It’s a nice reboot for my brain, since I spend most of my time immersed in the electronic world of pixels and php, coding and chaos. I’ll be bringing some work with me, thanks to my stupid ISP that’s delayed my work all week. But, I’m limiting work to evenings after hubby and The Boy are sleeping.
Two nights in an inn on the coast, close enough to the water to hear it. Bliss.
On the way home, we’ll meet up with friends…one of whom is a knitty friend (hi Rosalie!) who will be able to properly appreciate the awesome-ness of the stash I’ll be bringing home.
We leave in 1.5 hours. I can hardly wait!
