This is my life…

it's 2pm on a Sunday. So far today, I have: Slept in until 10am, because I fell asleep early last night, woke up at 11pm, and read 1 novel and half of another and then fell asleep at 3am. Talked to one of my bosses about cool work stuff Answered 64 emails Cooked pork chops, rice, gravy, corn, and homemade biscuits Talked with the team I'm working with to relaunch a ministry website for a ministry I believe in completely and heartily endorse knit a round on my sweater talked with The Boy about his "theory on some intimidation tactics ancient Romans may have used in … [Read more...]

A Thankful Heart…

IMG_0303

is a happy heart... Because a thankful heart is a happy heart! I'm glad for what I have, That's an easy way to start! Yes, in the inimitable words of Madame Blueberry of VeggieTales fame, I'm glad for what I have :) I've lived in Canada for over 13 years now, and I'm slowly getting used to Thanksgiving in October. I even remembered to buy a turkey ahead of time this year! But since I am, as The Boy puts it, "The only one in this family who doesn't get to share in Canadian history since Dad and I are both Canadian and American but you're only American", I always feel Thanksgiving in … [Read more...]

Time to party!

At 6:30 this morning, The Boy crept into our bedroom and gently shook me awake and whispered "Mom? Do you want to say it?!?" I gave him a sideways, sleepy hug and said "What? ugh, too much coffee…

I drank a cup of coffee because my husband oh-so-politely made extra last night. Can't waste, right? I didn't get to sleep until 3 am. I'm utterly, totally exhausted. And The Boy kept waking me up - "Mom, the clock is PAST 8 am. This means you've overslept. I bet Mr. Brian's going to be really, really mad at you!" Fortunately, Mr. Brian of StudioPress/MommyPress etc. really doesn't care if I need to oversleep on occasion - it's not like I don't put in my time :D But try telling that to my little alarm clock...yawn. I want to go back to bed, but I'm not. I'm being all grownup and responsible … [Read more...]
